The Music
Founded in early spring of 2009, Dry County brings the familiar sounds of country
music together with the edge of southern rock. Influenced by artist varying from
George Strait to Lynyrd Skynyrd, Dry County is a diverse group of musicians who
can throw one heck of a party!
It was in the early spring of 2009 that two co-workers began talking about playing
music. Mike, a guitar playin’ cowboy and Cameron, a biker who played drums. The
two decided they needed to get together, ice down some beer, invite a few friends
who also played music, invite a few more friends just to listen and have a good
time, and jam some music and that’s exactly what they did. They jammed everything
from
George
Strait
to Guns-N-Roses, to Clint Black and Charlie Daniels, little did they know, they
had just formed what would soon become known as the band named
Dry County
. A few weeks later Mike’s phone rang,
a friend who heard about his “band” from somebody who was at the jam party, wanted
to know if his “band” would like to play after a rodeo. Un-named, they opened with
Clint Black’s “Killin’ Time” and 2 hours later closed with The Marshal Tucker
Band’s “Can’t Ya See”. Ever
since then the phone has kept ringing, they have played private parties, wedding
receptions, opened for headline acts and headlined venues themselves at festivals,
rodeo’s and chuck wagon races, and
have been on the club scene staying booked up in and around Central Arkansas evolving
into one of the most popular bands in the area.
